Both Mari and I like to travel various places, but we could not go to any places during Mari's pregnancy and the period Shiori was a baby. This time, Shiori had begun to walk by herself, so we planned to go overseas. We selected Guam where we could go by a short flight and stay free from care.

Guam being one of very popular resorts for Japanese people to visit easily, I wondered what Guam was. It was that once we went out the small area for tourists, almost of this island was occupied by U.S.Air Force Base (Andersen Base) and jungles (Apra Harbor was one of the the maintenance bases of U.S.Navy). We could not go to any places without cars. To make matters worse, I heard we could not go into the sea without stepping on some trepangs (sea cucumbers) at the bottom of Tumon Bay, along which there were many resort hotels.
So, we spent time at the pool and the garden of the hotel or took part in some optional tours.

At first, we participated in Sea Princess Dinner Cruise introdused to be very entertaining and amusing. Almost of the guests seemed to be middle-aged Japanese who came here for recreation trips of their companies. The famous host, "Kuma-san" was a very strange middle-aged comedian. He could sing both English and Japanese songs and he began to sing Korean song when a Korean requested. A Japanese saying that he came from Chigasaki, Kuma-san began to sing one of the hit songs of Southern All Stars (A lot of whose songs are related to Chigasaki, Shonan, and Yokohama.). We enjoyed his songs and talk and magic show by another one after looking at the sunset on the deck.
We got on the the helicopter. I wonder if I was afraid before taking off, but it was comfortable. Shiori was sleeping in her mother's chest. Watching this island from the sky, I could understand almost of the south area of it was jungle. It was the wonderful experience, but too expensive for $130 per person.
We went shopping to Micronesia Mall. It was a little old, but made me feel the atmosphere of an American shopping center. Instead of the numbers of shops, we could not find so interesting goods. Gibsons, a lot of dairy necessaries were sold, was more attractive than Micromesia mall.

Remembering the travel, I found that we took part in various optional tours. But, the beach in front of the hotel and the pool in the hotel were the best places for our family to enjoy at ease. Shiori, who just bwgan to walk by herself, seemed to be interested in many things and to learn to play with sands.

Boeing 727 with only one aisle was very narrow for 4 hours' flight. The selection of the day flight, not the night flight, was right.

Others

Activity)1)I tried shooting at Wild West Gun Club. Shooting only 20 bullets in an instant, I was satisfied with it. 2)Sand Castle Dinner Show was double-featured, musical and magic. Both of them were sophisticated. 3)At Seaside BBQ in Fujita Guam Tumon Beach Hotel, we enjoyed BBQ watching the sunset. I would have talked with more other families. I wondered why almost of families and groups went back as soon as they finished to eat.
