'N Family' Kanazawa

7 years had passed since my father had died. My mother, my brother's family and my family visited Eiheiji temple (Fukui prefecture) which was the cathedral of Soto-syu, one of the sects of the Zen sect.

Like the cathedral of Soto-syu sect that it was, it was very dignified. The dignity was suitable for the place where many Buddhist priests coming from all over Japan trained theirselves. The view surrounded by the cries of a lot of cicadas was very nice. I wished to see the view with snow.
I was surprised that the souvenir shops were closed at 4:30 p.m. when the gate of the cathedral was closed. After that time, we could not even eat anything there. Instead of their early closing, the shops were opened in the early morning.

The brother's family went back soon, but my mother and my family went to Kanazawa for sightseeing.

We went to Korinbo through Nagamachi Samurai District. It was just the day when the fireworks display of saigawa river was held, so the downtown was crowded with a lot of young women in Yukata (Summer Kimono) and so on. We enjoyed the fireworks at the room of the hotel.

Next day, after walking around Kenrokuen Garden, we would visit Kanazawa university in the site of Kanazawa castle, but it had been to moved to the suburbs. It was worth while seeing Oyama shrine, I heard. Its gate of a compromise among Japanese, Chinese and European styles had stained glass windows. It was the God of fight and gambling.

We flied by JAIR to Komatsu airport from Nishi-Hiroshima airport and back. The flight on 19-seater JetStream was a little thrilling. You had better sit on the front seat if you want to watch the control of the plane, and you had better sit on the back seat if you want to enjoy the land view from the sky.

Dining)1)We had dinner steak at Nishikawa in Korinbo. It was a small restaurant only man and wife managed. The course steak was over 3,000 yen. 2)Nikore, a coffee shop at Nagamachi, was one of the rooms of a private house. It was impossible to know what time it was opened because the owner opened it only when he liked.
Transportation)The parking fee of Nishi-Hiroshima airport was free. But its capacity was small.
