'N Family' Portpialand

Postponement

We had planned to visit there on Golden Week in May, but papa's sudden works made it impossible. After one month when his task was over, we could actually visit there.
It was very nice Saturday. We went out at noon, and after 30 minutes driving along the bay seeing some big ships which carry new Mazda cars to overseas, arrived at Kure Portpia Land.
The most popular attractions among the young people were Andalusian Railroad (Roller Coaster) and Splash Andalusia (boats falling down a waterfall). I was sorry I could not enjoy them because I was too small. As you see by the name of "Andalusia", the general concept of this park was Spanish style. We lunched on the big ship "Estlaya".

Terrible Giant Wheel

I enjoyed Merry-Go-Round (double decker), Tea Cup, and Marchen Poppo (little train). I didn't have to wait any moment at any attractions.
Papa said to me, "Let's try Terrible House (Horror House)!" again and again, but I refused. And when we got on Giant Wheel, it was he that was terrified to be pale and silent. Only one sentence he spoke was "You are crazy to be pleased to be hanged so high in such a small cage." He had come to feel uneasy at a height since a few years before. Though he liked airplanes and always insisted on the safety of the airplane, he had come to feel uneasy for some minutes after taking off. I should have made him get on the big wheel near Yokohama station before it was closed ! So, I could have seen his pale face !
I could enjoy the wide view of the town and the port of Hiroshima city, and Etajima island in the offing.
Special event "Anime Festival by Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki - Totoro and Ponpoko Forest" was just held. I saw tall and fat Totoro with a big mouth for the first time.

Next Time

No large, no small, the land was adequate for a family with a little child to enjoy.
As Swimming pool was under construction, I'll bring my swim suit next time.
Of course, "Portpia" is the place we should visit in summer, I think.
